Cefalu, the first 5-Trident Club Med Resort in the Mediterranean, opened its doors in June 2018. Let's check out the best moments from the opening event!
Located on the northern coast of Sicily set upon a rugged cliff-top with 360 degrees views across the ocean, Club Med Cefalu played host to VIP guests from around the world for a private pre-opening party, before officially opening its doors on Sunday 10th June.
The champagne was flowing and the beats were jumping, with famous French DJ Bob Sinclar's tunes ensuring an electric atmosphere.
Guests were also treated to a silk ribbon show and live orchestra under the stars.
Amongst the crowd were some famous faces such as Matthew Lewis, the lovable wizard Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, with his new wife Angela Jones.
The event welcomed Michelin star chef Andrea Berton, who is the gastronomic genius of all three restaurants within the resort, beautifully reinterpreting local authentic dishes with a modern twist.
“This is Club Med today and it’s a new chapter we are opening here together in Cefalu.” said Henri Giscard d'Estaing, CEO of Club Med during the symbolic cutting of the ribbon in the colours of the Italian flag, declaring Club Med Cefalu officially open!
